Both ground floor apartments are housed within Riverside House a large Victorian property situated on the banks of the River Dee in Llangollen. It is a central but quiet location in the town centre and is within easy walking distance to all that the town offers in the way of tourist attractions, pubs and restaurants.
The property, Riverside House, is also home to The Natural Health Clinic which offers various natural therapies on request.
Access to both apartments (1 and 2) is from the back of the large white building in Princess Street, a cul-de-sac that runs directly parallel to the river. Parking on the street can be quite limited, particularly during the summer, but the owners are usually on hand to help, park and manoeuvre if required!
The entrance to Mews 1 and 2 apartments is from a small courtyard which is filled with colourful windowboxes and containers. Entrances are paved and well lit. The apartments are newly refurbished and are decorated in neutral minimalist style. There are plenty of electrical sockets!
Whilst we certainly do not discourage children, the accommodation is more suitable for couples or small families wanting a quiet but central location. All apartments are non smoking.
A small hall provides space for hanging coats and storing shoes, bags, etc. To the left is a light and airey double bedroom with fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedding for the sofa bed is stored in the divan drawer of the bed.
Straight ahead is the toilet, washbasin and shower cubicle.
To the right is the living/dining/kitchen area. This also has direct access onto The Riverside Walk itself, via a glass door from which you can also see the river. Steps will take you down the side of the building and out through the front gate on to the riverside and promenade.
The kitchen has a fridge, cooker and microwave and plenty of cupboard space. There is dining space for up to 4 people.
The living area has a sofa bed and easy chair with coffee tables and television. This apartment can sleep up to 4 people.
This apartment is suitable for a disabled person and partner/carer or two able bodied guests who require separte sleeping space.
There is a large open plan living/dining area with a galley type kitchen, single bedroom and large wetroom. All doors are wheel chair width and there is a small ramp at the entrance.
You enter into a large, light open planned room (there are three windows all curtained and with blinds) with storage space and coatrack to the left. There is a comfortable ¾ sized sofa bed, cane chair and upright easy chair. A foldaway table can provide dining space for up to 4 people. There is also a t.v. and coffee table. There is good central lighting and two lamps.
To the left is the door to a large wetroom. This has a toilet with grab rails, washbasin and shower with grab rail and shower seat. From the wetroom there is also another door which gives direct access to the single bedroom. Both rooms have independent access to the wetroom.
A single bedroom contains a single divan/bed and a chest of drawers next to the bed with touch sensitive bedside lamp. There is also a wardrobe and bedroom chair. A second door leads from the bedroom into the kitchen area. This area contains cupboard space, fridge, hob, microwave and a sink that can move up an down enabling a wheel chair user to be independent if required.
If both apartments are available during the same period, they would provide ideal accommodation for a family/party of up to 6 people.
Mews 3 or 'The Nest'
Our newly converted basement apartment called The Nest opens directly onto the front of the building and then onto the Riverside Walk itself. It is light, cool and peaceful and has been described as a perfect 'haven or retreat' and even 'heaven' by one guest! It is ideally suited for a couple or single person.
Access is from Riverside Walk itself and there is no vehicular access to the entrance gate. On road parking is available at the back of the building in Princess Street and access to Riverside Walk is via public steps down to the promenade. The steps are just situated adjacent to the property next door. Access is also available through the main building itself and the owners of the property can be on hand to help unload if necessary.
Due to the presence of these steps Mews 3 would be unsuitable for an elderly or disabled person.
A half glass door with a glass side panel opens and steps up into the living /dining area where there is a dining table, t.v., two seater settee, chair and coffee table. The kitchen area is to the left and contains a fridge, cooker, microwave and washing up area. A small shower room with toilet and wash hand basin are opposite the kitchen area. Straight on is a spacious double bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers. There is a large basement window in this room and another window in the kitchen area. The occasional duck can peep through to say hello!
The river is visible through the glass front door and access to the gate and onto the Walk itself is via a couple of slate steps at right angles to the door. Despite this easy access, the layout is such that there is also privacy. There is a table and two chairs on the patio outside whcih overlooks the river.
The access is approximately mid point between the Corn Mill and the Riverside childrens' park and the town centre itself is less than a five minute walk.
